Meet the Team

Synergy Skylights and Roofing was founded by Laureyn Furtney and Nick Belland to provide a reliable, honest, and seamless customer journey. With Nick’s background as a licensed construction supervisor and contractor, and Laureyn’s vast product knowledge and customer oriented sales method, they saw an opportunity to provide a better, more synergistic experience for customers looking to replace existing skylights or replace their existing roofing system. By remaining specialized in roofing and skylights only, they have been able to hone their craft and give their customers the individual attention each project deserves.

Laureyn is a passionate and driven educator. She has been in the building material industry for over 10 years, and has been a sales professional for over a decade. Before starting Synergy Skylights, Laureyn worked directly for VELUX America LLC as a senior sales representative for the Massachusetts region, supporting and consulting architects, homeowners, builders, and roofers. She has consulted on thousands of skylight projects. Prior to that she worked with GAF, the leading roofing manufacturer in North America. Having worked for two prominent manufacturers in roofing products and services, the depth of her knowledge is far reaching. More importantly though, Laureyn’s success can be attributed to her innate ability to make connections with people. This relational style, coupled with her passion for what skylights represent, daylight and fresh air, allow her to lead with education over influence. Laureyn strives to consult and educate clients so they feel empowered to make an informed decision that will impact their home or business.

Laureyn’s roots are in New England. Having spent her childhood living in southern Maine and the seacoast of New Hampshire. She now lives with her family in Central Massachusetts. In her free time, Laureyn loves spending time with her family, competing in a good yard game and enjoying a great cup of coffee.

Andrew is an early career carpenter. He graduated in 2021 from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School, with a concentration in House Carpentry. After experimenting with different trades, he was drawn to carpentry because of the transferable skills it provided. Of all the tasks Andrew engaged in during his time in House Carpentry, he was most drawn to roofing. Andrew enjoyed being outdoors and working up high so he sought out an internship with a company in the roofing field. Andrew started with Synergy Skylights as an co-op intern in his senior year. After graduation, he was hired as a full-time employee and has since been involved with hundreds of skylight applications. Andrew enjoys the skylight installation process because of the unique intersection of carpentry, roofing, and other niche skills. Andrew is constantly striving to learn new skills and techniques. He continues to work towards building his confidence as both a carpenter and skylight installer.

Andrew currently resides in Fitchburg with his family. In his free time, he enjoys building legos, playing hockey and snowboarding.
